Review
Hitchcock's first feature, shot in Munich; uneven account of a pair of chorus girls, one (Valli) sweet and knowing, the other (Geraghty) a waif who becomes a glamorous bitch. Forgettable silent melodrama served as an apprenticeship for its director.

Trivia
Hitchcock's first film was almost doomed when Austrian customs officials confiscated the film stock on the journey to do some location shooting.

Although shot a year before, the film wasn't actually released until after "The Lodger" was a massive hit.
